Pro Series Dome Camera

Let's take a look today at another set of professional dome cameras, the DC111 Pro Series Dome Cameras. There are two models in this security camera series, both with professional features and specifications. One model is black and white and the other model is color. They both feature excellent low-light operation and excellent resolution. Let's take a closer look:

The DC-111W is the black and white model. It is a wired dome camera with Plug & Play connections for ease of installation. It features a 1/3" high resolution Sony CCD sensor chip for improved image quality. Resolution is a solid 420 horizontal TV lines (this results in individual frames that are better than VGA quality). Low-light operation is excellent at .5 LUX. It uses a 4mm lens for optimum field of view no matter where it is installed. It uses little power, with a 12VDC requirement at only 200mA maximum. It features a tamper-proof dome, although it is not an armor dome camera. Size is just over 4" in diameter.

The DC-111WC is the color model dome camera. It is also a wired dome camera and includes Plug & Play connections for easy installation. It uses a 1/3" high resolution Sony color CCD sensor chip that delivers a resolution of 420 horizontal TV lines. Low-light operation is excellent for a color security camera at 1 LUX. Size is also just over 4" in diameter and the unit requires a 12VDC power supply that draws only 200mA.

Let's sum up the features for these two dome cameras:

Black & White Model

• DC-111W Wired Security Camera with Plug & Play

Includes:
12 Volt DC Power Adapter

Specifications:
- Image Sensor: 1/3” CCD
- Resolution: 420 TV Lines
- Min. Illumination: 0.5 Lux
- Lens: 4mm
- Power Required: 12V DC
- Current Consumption: 200mA Max

Color Model
• DC-111WC Wired Security Camera with Plug & Play

Includes:
12 Volt DC Power Adapter

Specifications:
- Image Sensor: 1/3” CCD
- Resolution: 420 TV Lines
- Min. Illumination: 1 Lux (Color)
- Lens: 4mm
- Power Required: 12V DC
- Current Consumption: 200mA Max

If you're wondering what those LUX values actually mean in the real world, here's a quick comparison for reference purposes: 1 LUX is about the amount of light available late in the evening, around dusk. .5 LUX is about the amount of light available in a well-lit parking lot at night. And .05 LUX would be perceived by the human eye as total darkness. So the black and white model of this security camera can see in near total darkness.

So, as you can see, low-light operation for both of these dome cameras is excellent. And coupled with the 4mm lens for maximum field of view, you'll never miss a detail. The features and specifications of both of these security cameras places them squarely in the professional category. They would be an excellent addition to any security camera system, whether you are designing a new one or adding security cameras to an existing system. We recommend both models highly.

The Sony 1/3" black and white or color CCD image sensors are an especially important feature, as Sony makes the best CCD sensors on the market. They provide high resolution with good low-light operation, a combination that's hard to find.
