Advances in technology have brought a lot of spy equipment within reach of the everyday consumer. Devices that used to be available only to large-budget operations such as big business and governments can now be easily purchased by the average consumer. Surveillance cameras are one example. They are smaller, cheaper and easier to install (due to wireless technology) than ever before. And infrared cameras that can actually "see in the dark" are also available at reasonable prices.
Hidden cameras are another example. Reduction in size of small "board" cameras means that these devices can be hidden in fully functional everyday products. For example, you can get a hidden camera concealed in a real wording kitchen can opener, wall clock, wall thermostat or CD boombox. Prices have also come down on DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) used to store the video produced by these cameras. You can even get a kit that includes all the necessary hardware and software to turn your existing PC into a state-of-the-art DVR. So if you have need of any spy equipment, there's never been a better time to invest in some.
